For some, demo day is a therapeutic exercise. For a home renovator, it’s a necessary step in getting to the heart of the project. Our latest project at The Real Property Connection is a combination of demolition and a lot of clean up. This particular house has carpet to be removed and appliances that need scrubbing. All of the doors are being removed for cleaning, sanding and repainting.
As I mentioned in a previous post, A FLIPPING DREAM OR NIGHTMARE, this house has a good structure and is the perfect candidate for a flip. In addition to general cleaning, we have several adjustments we are making to the existing design. In the kitchen, we are removing part of the bar area that closes off the kitchen and building an island to take it’s place. All of the cabinet doors have been removed for cleaning and sanding to be painted later.
Another design change we are making is with the staircase in the entryway. It’s current construction is very crowded and uninviting. We are removing the wall and designing a new access to the stairs. The new design will not only beautify the space but add to our resale value.
